I asked lula to sit nicely in Arthur's nap nanny so I could take a picture of both of them. This is what I got:

Kind of a lazy morning after a late night of Christmas fun. Lula is cuddled up in her wagon with pillows & blankets while Arthur snoozes on me. I wish it was warm enough to take the wagon outside but for now we'll just stay cozy and warm in here.

We had a great Christmas! Lula got loads of presents, visited with her grandparents & cousins. Arthur was well behaved & protected from being trampled by the girls after bo set up a protective ring around the baby. Christmas 2013 was a success!

Xmas eve

And we have some major holiday confusion going on over here

9 am

My first day alone with both kids -
9 am dress up and a movie.
10:30 am park time - run into Glenna & mason! Yay!
12:30 home for lunch
1 pm lula naps - Arthur does NOT want to nap.
4 pm lula gets up, delights in new sofia coloring book & we wait for pat to come home.
5:15 pm pat comes home. Screaming & excitement abound.
6:15 pm to brook side gardens for Xmas light viewing with some friends.

For shame

You know it's a legit blow out when you get poops on your knee....

1 month dr visit

My Arthur is 12 lbs 3 oz! even the doctor said he is a moose. He also has some reflux which makes him cry and cry and cry. Hopefully the maalox will help him - sure seemed to do the trick last night.
Today is lulas last day with mason & Glenna. I wonder who will cry the hardest at pick up....

Snow day

We went to visit Santa Claus yesterday. After the picture I wandered into Williams Sonoma and left pat outside with Arthur in stroller and a loose lula. I was in the store for about 4 minutes when I looked out and saw pat pushing the stroller one handed and "carrying" lula like this.

I almost died laughing...

Arthur shaming.....we had a big wet mess in our bed this morning compliments of Arthur.

It's a good thing he's cute.

3 weeks old

On Thursday - didn't that go fast?

During a little snooze this morning Arthur had an enormous blowout and left a messy yellow spot on my sheets. He didn't even have the decency to look ashamed. We changed the sheets, had a productive afternoon and then right before lulas dinner poor Arthur emptied the contents of his entire body down my shirt. It's been a messy day for us. Hope pat is in the mood to do some laundry tonight.

Arthur

Two days ago Arthur peed all over me & the sofa. Yesterday he pooped himself so badly it got all over our bed. In the wee hours of the morning today he vomited all over the clean sheets we put on last night after the poop fiasco. This kid knows how to make a mess.

I can't even handle how cute he is.

Three different times yesterday lula notified us that she had to poop on the potty. We raced upstairs, put the kiddie seat on the real toilet & lula farted on the potty!!! Boy was she pleased with herself.
Of course eventually we hope she will also poop on the potty, but this seems like a promising first step.

Lula got Arthur a rubber ducky and was super excited to give it to him. Tonight she was walking around clutching the duck screaming "COOOOCK"
All pat and I could do was laugh. I mean, what the hell?

Im spending my days in bed cuddling my new baby - it is the best! Seriously probably some of the best days of my life. When lula gets home from her day she joins us in bed for a little movie and a snack. Today was Doritos and the movie planes. She is as delighted as I am.
Arthur is a good boy who doesn't seem to mind when his sister runs into the room screaming her hellos before mauling him. What a nice baby!

I love Arthur too! Lulas little brother was born 11/14/13 at 11:23 and weighed 8 lb 2 oz. I am totally in love....and absolutely exhausted.

Long weekend fun...

Lu got a new hat & mittens today. She refuses to put her thumbs into the thumb part of the mitten though. So basically we could have just put socks on her hands...but they wouldn't match the cute hat!

Lula is walking around with all the q tips....cleaning her ears, putting the q tip back into the holder and then deliberately choosing another.
I just tried to take them away from her and she sobbed "I need these please."

At least she said please.

Parrot

This morning I was asking pat if he thought I should put an undershirt on lula. He responded that he didn't know and added "I'm not a doctor." Right on cue, lula parrots back " I'm not a doctor."

Incidentally, she is going to the doctor today for her 2 yr old appointment. Hopefully she remembers to tell the doctor that she is NOT herself a doctor.

Although the getting dressed part of the morning can be tense, once it's over they're thick as thieves again

3 things

1. Watching pat try to get lula dressed in the am is like watching a trapper try to snare a wild animal. It's very funny & requires a level of agility i don't currently possess.
2. Lately, any time lula falls down or smashes into something while walking she announces "sorry." Presumably she is apologizing to herself?
3. I'm ready to have this baby. 16 more days until my due date seems like a loooong time.

We spent the weekend spoiling lula - although she doesn't realize it, her world is about to get rocked. She got to play with her cousins, go choose new toys (pinkie pie!!), have some mid afternoon ice cream and then watch a new movie. What a lucky girl!
