Day 1

Lulas first day at "school" was a total success!!! She didn't cry at all, didn't nap at al, didn't have a paci at all, and ate some lunch.
She was so animated when I picked her up and was happy as a little clam to tell me about her day.
She played a lot, read some books, and enjoyed some ziti.
She then passed out before 7 pm.
I also survived my first day back - but with far less playing.
Arthur and Grandpop also survived. Arthur didn't eat as much as I wanted but we can work on that. Grandpop made dinner for us so no work needed there :)

As I ride in to work this morning I'm trying to be positive about returning to work. At least I won't have to clean up any messes like this today:

Do I really have to go back to work tomorrow??? How on earth will I make it 10ish hours without these two???

We went to visit lulas new school today! I think she liked it. She didn't want to leave my side the whole time we were there but maybe she will be more enthused when I'm not right there. She seemed to love the bike room and was thrilled to see Maggie. They were both pretty delighted.
I remain anxious for my little lula to go off to daycare all day....but I think she'll like it once she gets used to it. I'm also really glad I don't do drop off :)

Friday fun! We spent all day at Bridget's house and lula had a blast. We played with their toys, ate their food, and went to their local park. We also attempted a walk to broad branch market but only made it about 4 blocks up western before I realized how insane I was. So we walked home and drove there instead :)

Yesterday was only kind of fun. A trip to buy buy baby was our highlight- wahoo!
It is still so darn cold that we didn't make it back to the park. Hopefully this weekend will be warmer and we can get outside.

Today wasn't loads of fun for me as I had 2 cavities filled this morning. At least lula and Arthur got to hang out with grand pop while I was gone. Then a quick trip to the park, a nice nap, a hit & run trip to the pediatrician and now some Angelina ballerina. Maybe tomorrow will be more fun!

Today's fun included a trip to see big momma, some delightful park time, a cupcake party with Bridget & Maggie and then some plain old fun cousin time.

Poor Arthur has a cold - not so much fun for him :(

Final countdown

Since I go back to work in 2 weeks I am going to make an extra effort to do something fun with lula every day. Yesterday the weather cooperated so we went to the park (twice), took a walk to whole foods & stopped for frozen yogurt on the way home. The froyo place had really loud pop music so the other patrons got to enjoy their froyo while watching lula dance. I bet she liked the music better than the froyo.
When we got home I was cleaning out the mudroom and I put the little rug outside so I could wash the floor. Lula was so delighted to have the rug outside and kept pretending to take a nap outside and them laughing hysterically. Napping outside!!?

It's freezing cold here so we decided to try on some of Arthur's summer clothes. He was made for shorts :)

It's a good thing we took advantage of the nice weather this weekend since we are housebound on account of snow again today.
We hiked a little bit in rock creek on Saturday and went to the zoo on Sunday. Arthur slept through our entire stroll through the zoo and woke up to make a huge mess in his pants just as we sat down to lunch. I had to take him to the car, strip him naked, give him a baby wipe bath and then get him dressed again - minus soiled onesie. It. Was. A. Mess.

And now it's snowing again.....and we're already climbing the walls.
