Beanboozled

Last night Lula broke out the beanboozled pack of jellybeans she got in her stocking. It was hysterical to watch them take a couple chews on a jellybean before realizing it was a gross flavor (I.e. Vomit, canned dog food, spoiled milk). 

In Lula fashion, she kept saying canned dog poop instead of canned dog food. Either is pretty gross br canned dog poop would probably be a little grosser.

Home!!!

Arthur was delighted to be reunited with all his books when we got home this afternoon. 

Both kids were less delighted about the idea of sleeping in seperate Ned's in Lulas new room. So, once again, the three of us slept in the same bed which Arthur wet! 

Launchos

Pat made nachos for an after school snack yesyerday. Arthur heard "launchos"  and had us all laughing with his repeated requests for more launchos. 

Apple picking

We had FUN FUN FUN picking apples yesterday. Now we have 20 lbs of apples to eat this week.

Half a dollar nap

Yesterday afternoon I wanted to lay day and take a 30 min nap. I asked Lula to go downstairs and tell pat I was going to lay down for half an hour.

She marched downstairs and announced that I was taking a "half a dollar nap." 

Back to school picnic

Last night was the back to school picnic. Lula had a blast dancing with the big kids  and I was really pleased at how sweet the big kids were to her. They went out of their way to include her when she could find a partner/group. Can you spot the little ginger in this conga line?? 

Back to school

These kids were delighted to go back to school earlier this week. I am delighted at how exhausted they are. 

Arthur was so pooped yesterday that he fell asleep on the way to get a celebratory ice cream and he slept through the whole night.

Beach fun

We had such a fun long vacay in Bethany. Is it possible that the last time I was there for more than 1 week was right after the bar exam??? 

Funland

Another fun weekend for us. We had the beach house all to ourselves - which made my kids pretty unhappy when they realized we were their only company. We went to the water slides and Lula was big enough for the big slides this year. Mercifully, Arthur was happy to stay on the little kid slides and not give me too much trouble. 

Yesterday on our way out we stopped at Funland. My little baby Arthur did the big kid obstacle course! Twice! I can't believe he is big enough (& brave enough) to do the big kid course😭

Sadly Arthur then stayed up until almost 10 insisting we listen to the VBS cd on repeat. He didn't even go to VBS! 

Arthur puppy

Earlier this week as we were coming home from an evening stroll we encountered a dog that was Arthur's spirit animal. 

It was a cute little chocolate lab who was walking with two women and an older chocolate lab. The puppy was named Maybe and he was dog skipping along, kind of sideways, with he leash in his mouth. He was chewing on the leash, getting tangled in the other dogs leash, and generally being a high energy puppy. The ladies were walking along, only occasionally reprimanding Maybe, and the other dog was plain old ignoring him. 

He was cute and once we pointed out to our kids that Maybe was just like Arthur we all had a good laugh about it. At least Arthur was dead asleep less than 40 minutes after the encounter - Maybe looked like he was ready to party all night! 

They both screamed for ice cream!

I love everything about Bethesda - especially walking into town after dinner for an ice cream! The kids don't mind the ice cream perks either. 

Church

At mass yesterday during an unusually quiet moment just before communion, Lula asked, in a loud stage whisper, if she was old enough for a chip now. I imagine the super catholic family behind us (who took up an entire row!!) was dismayed that she was unfamiliar with the Eucharist. 

Donuts

On Saturday morning, around 6:15, Arthur and I snuck out of the house and went in search of donuts. We found them! 

Weekend

A perfect summer weekend despite the stifling heat. Yesterday all 4 of us were swimming in the ocean having the best time ever. Murphy beach week(end) was a fun group and the kids were happy playing with Joey, Caroline and the big Tejera kids.
