Mom cation

Day 3 of momcation was a lot like days 1 & 2. Cozy.

Arthur was super into the pumpkins today.

I missed these gingers while I was gone!!

And they missed me too. Lula is insisting on calling me bayly now - which I don't love - but is thrilled that I'm back to hug and kiss her. And she loooooved all the candy I bought at heathrow for her. Sadly the Italian souvenirs I bought her were a real bust.

Arthur wouldn't let me put him down all evening and wasn't thrilled when lula tried to butt into his time.

Not infrequently when lula doesn't know he answer to something or just is being silly she makes up words. When this fish project came home from school I laughed out loud.
Also, did she spell the names for whoever wrote them? Or did they just improvise?

I hope lula got a cake pop yesterday for her big birthday!!

Lulas bday fun!

We had a small birthday party for lula yesterday with a couple neighborhood friends and her cousins. They painted pumpkins, drew with chalk, had a little face paint (not as big of a hit as i hoped) and messed up the basement. It was the first my little pony pizza party I've ever hosted and it was pretty awesome.
Arthur had his first real taste if a cupcake and he seemed super happy about it . Deirdre let him eat almost the whole thing!

The look on his face here sure doesn't show it but Arthur spends almost all weekend in the ergo like this and I think he loves it .

I cannot believe this girl is almost 3!! What a long way we've come since the day my first tiny redhead was born.

The photos aren't great because they were both thrashing around. Lula was having fun and playing. Arthur was terrified and effectively being choked by his sister.

Happy birthday to me!

We had a terrific long birthday weekend! We went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday, took nice long naps, and then met some friends for beers. Pretty much a perfect birthday. And yesterday's bonus day was also great. We were able to buy new ties for the car (boo!!), spend a lot f time at wheaton plaza waiting for those tires(boo), and Arthur skipped his afternoon nap (boo).

Lula did insist on wearing a Christmas dress to the pumpkin patch despite having an adorable Halloween option available for her. Oh well, she did put it on later in the day.

Arthur got his first real taste of birthday cake on Sunday and he loved it. Looked a little bit like Hannibal lector when it was all done but he was a happy boy while it lasted.

What a fun weekend - looking forward to lulas big birthday bonanza this weekend!

Almost 3 is such an adorable age - sometimes.
This morning lula woke up, asked to snuggle with me without Arthur, then happily remembered her new shiny boots, asked to wear a dress, insisted she put on a puffer vest (best, bestie, bestener, vesty - not sure why it's so hard for her), and then demanded some elephant ears.
She was delighted for the first picture, but during my second attempt she sharply told me "no more pictures"

Mmmmmmkay.

Halloween

With these clues can you guess the family themed Halloween costumes?

Chilly weather means cute hats and jackets. Lula wanted to wear her cat hat on our walk on Saturday and I didn't feel like arguing with her. So, we let her go out to dinner in a queen Elsa dress, uggs and bike helmet.

We took both kids to a new silver spring brewery this weekend. Lula enjoyed the baggo and the music and Arthur really enjoyed the bacon mashed potatoes.

We enjoyed the beer.

Costco

Got both kids in the cart at Costco yesterday. It was pretty glorious - until lula saw the life sized stuffed ponies and demanded to be let down immediately. Up until then it was smooth sailing....

Arthur weighs 22.5 lbs and is in the 80th percentile for his weight. His head is enormous - 94th percentile. Big boy, lots of brains....
