Farm day!

We had a lot of (hot) fun at butlers orchard yesterday. We even enjoyed the tour of the farm, until the tractor driver gave a 15 minute speech about sustainable agriculture while arthur loudly lost his mind. Right up until then it was perfect. 

Magic beans

I totally tricked both kids into enthusiastically eating edamame last night by excitedly telling them it was magic beans. 

Popsicles

And, since everyone ae their fish & magic beans so well they got Popsicles as a treat. 

Princess

Lula is totally smitten with her new jewelry. 

Ball pit!

Ball pit was so much fun. The kids would have stayed there all day. 

Digger

Arthur is so obsessed with trucks. Yesterday they got home and he was babbling about a digger. Glena told me it was parked one street away so we walked over to admire it. He is in love. 

This morning he woke up and told me he had a dream about a big digger. I think a digger birthday party is in his future 

Cupcakes

Yesterday the kids made cupcakes with glena. They were so excited to show me when I got home. 

Baby jack

We had so much fun at baby jacks shower. I didn't even rember to take pictures with my phone - but I did manage to snag these cute pics of lula & CeCe looking darling together. I can just imagine the trouble these two could get into in about 15 years. Hopefully they'll leave arthur and jack out of it. 

It is patently unfair that Kate looks so good (and still petite) while pregnant. 

Lula is pretty excited to see aunt cake this weekend. Actually, it's all she'll talk about. 

With what lula believed to be a sleeping bag( but was really just a fleece princess throw blanket) on her little bed, she agreed to sleep in her own room last night. 

It was her crazy brother who made things difficult by screaming "lula! Wake up! Open your eyes!" for almost an hour after she fell asleep. Maybe we shouldn't have let him eat this chocolate cupcake so close to bedtime. 

Fireworks!

Neither one of my kids stayed up late enough to see any actual fireworks but we did celebrate the 4th of July with a trip to the arcade, a parade (complete with candy thrown from the floats), cook out & Popsicles! Not a bad celebration by anyone's estimation. 

Cousins dinner

We had a lovely cousins dinner at the Christins last night. Lula scored a "new to her" lunch box which she did not take off all night. In fact, when she plodded into my room this morning she was wearing it again (I did make her take it off to sleep) and chatting excitedly about a picnic breakfast & picnic lunch. 

2 gingers

My sweet cousin Veronica works for this booze company who has a product called "2 Gingers" and I told her that since I have 2 gingers I wanted some swag. 

Boy, did she come through! I'm so excited. 

Lightning bugs

We had a crazy thunderstorm last night so while we waited out the rain we sat in the basemt and watched a Sesame Street about insects. Imagine Arthur's delight when the rain sort of stopped and we got to go outside and see some real lightning bugs! He was so so excited he was actually squealing with delight. 

Arthur

Arthur had a blast this weekend. Today I took him into the ocean and every time a wave crashed and we got a new surge of water he screamed " fun!" It was the most excited I have ever seen him. I wish I could have stayed in the water with him all day.
