We took a long walk after work and we ended up on the bridge over the metro. Arthur loved it! It makes me so happy to see him this excited! I'd stand on the bridge in spring street for hours if he was this delighted the whole time 😍

Arthur wanted to show pat all the other lady hair styles he tried on while at the beach. 

Home again home again lickety split

The kids so excited to see pat last night when he got home from class. Lula couldn't wait to tell him that she put her face underwater and did the big kid obstacle course! 

It's not a bad look for him. 

Lula-isms

Today in the carpool the girls were talking about their golden birthdays. Bridget correctly told Lu that her golden birthday was when she turned 21 and she could then have her first beer. Lula responds "no thanks. It's ok. I don't like beer. Beer is not my favorite." 

Later, during the daily recap she tells me, very sadly, that she did not have a "granilla" bar like her cousins. Wish I had a granola bar to send with her tomorrow! 

Glena said arthur didn't ask for lula at all today but he sure wanted to be close to her at bedtime. 

Dance camp!!!!

Lula is soooo excited for camp! I cannot wait to hear the full report.

We should have waited for the evening light, but we had to leave at lunch. Will try an evening one next weekend too. 

Another perfect weekend

At the beach with grandpop and our cousins. Good company, good food and good weather. Couldn't ask for much more than that. 

Pit

Lula woke with her customary bed head this morning. Later as she was scratching at her head she asked me to please brush the Pit out of her hair. It took me a few minutes but I finally realized she meant a knot! 

We may need to start combing this rats nest occasionally. 

We tried to teach arthur how to touch his tongue to his nose last night. 

He did not get it. 

Nats!

The kids went to their first nats game today and I went to my first game since I had kids. It was a lot of fun.

Boy was he excited to get his pudgy little piggies into lulas boots this morning. 

She was less enthused when she realized he was wearing them. 

Bed time

The routine at bed time here is pretty involved. Yesterday, after all the standard events we kissed them goodnight and left them to fall asleep. When we went downstairs we watched them on the monitor as arthur begged lula for books. She stealthily got out of bed and was handing books through the crib bars while sweetly encouraging him to lay down and go to sleep. She was so gentle and kind to him. I'm so glad they have each other. 

Haircut

Lula gave herself a little trim today while I was at work. 

At least she spared her brother. 

Dance party

Yesterday while arthur napped lula and I had a legit dance party. I really can't wait her to start baller this fall. I think she will love it - and it should be amusing to watch her instructor try to tame those hip shakes.

Uncle Chris

He's been talking about uncle Chris for a few weeks. And enjoying every minute with him while he's here. 

Fairy godmother

This guy has the best fairy godmother.....and I cannot wait for him to meet his new cousin. We should all be worried about the two of them together, but we have at least a few years before the real danger begins. 

And anyways, if arthur and jack seem like they may  be trouble one day then God help us when lula & CeCe find each other on a college campus.
