Playroom & pre-easter

Lula & I had a fabulous 3 day weekend together and she got to enjoy her new playroom. I think she preferred having her cousins over to play but even with just me she had fun running around.
Yesterday we went to a pre- Easter party at CUA and this happened.
Afterwards, a total stranger tapped me on the shoulder to tell me he'd never seen a white girl move her hips like that.

Chatty Cathy

Lula is becoming more and more communicative.  She can say up*, all done, cake, juice and books.  Not suprisingly her favorite things right now are cake, juice and books.  And being outside.  She can't say outside but she sure knows what it means.  If you say the word "outside" she drops whatever she is doing and runs to the front door.  Even if you were only asking if the trash was put "outside" she will hear the word and run to the door.

She currently dislikes milk.  And, last night she was throwing her edamame on the ground two handfulls at a time, but I think she was just objecting to the frequency that edamame shows up on the dinner menu.  I think she still generally likes it.

* she does say up for both up and down, but we know exactly which one she means.  usually it is easy to figure out given her location when she says up :)

Tuesday morning

Just a little day in the life action for Lula. With 5 teeth now we are all about teeth brushing here. She also loves to wrap up Creepy Baby in Celia and hug her and drag her around. I added the ribbon so Celia would stay on.
She is not allowed to have any toothpaste because if applied to the toothbrush she just sucks it all out of the brush bristles, fails to brush anything, and looses interest when she has ingested all the toothpaste. And, toothbrushing can ONLY occur while she is seated on the toilet because otherwise she will run around with it and risk serious injuries when she falls with the toothbrush in her mouth.

Snow (ish) day

We had a fun snow day today.  Me, Pat, Lula, Giz & about 6 strangers doing really loud work in our basement.  All.  Day.  Long.
Fortunately, and against all odds, we got a 2 hr nap out of Lula, despite their best efforts to use the loudest tools known to man to keep her awake.  After the nap she spent a large amount of time playing with a cat toy made out of a stick and a piece of elastic and a bird toy - we're lucky she didn't put out one of her eyes. Or one of our eyes.

Lula did enjoy the snow for about 5 minutes this morning.  When I first opened the door to show her the heavily falling snow she laughed out loud - it was so cute.   I think she was a little confused but she seemed happy about it.

I'm so glad the weather forecasters were so wrong and I got a bonus day with Lu.
